Welcome to the Shelley Signs website.  We are full colour printers who specialise in designing and producing panels for open spaces and nature reserves.  Our printing and finishing process offers exceptional durability and colour fastness - if vandalism is a concern we have the solution.

If you need to meet DDA requirements for outdoor sites our sandblasted timber signs offer an interesting and distinctive answer.

Please use the Showcase section of the site to gain a flavour of our wide range of work and projects.

Printing Options.  Shelley Signs have continued their policy of on-going investment in state-of-the-art printing by installing a wide format Mimaki printer during the summer of 2008.  The vast majority of our printed graphics, whether onto rigid or flexible materials, are now printed using the Mimaki which offers the following benefits:

  • Excellent colour fastness with a 5 year warranty against fading.
  • Inks cured by UV - we use no solvents and the process has zero VOC emissions.
  • By printing direct to the GRP we eliminate the need for paper or vinyl.  This mimises waste and eliminates many of the long term problems associated with outdoor graphics.

Material Options.  The Mimaki will print direct onto a wide variety of materials and substrates.  Outlined below are a number of the materials that we use on a regular basis:

  • Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP).  Printed and encapsulated into GRP our signs offer exceptional outdoor durability and colour fastness.  The hard resin surface stands up well to impact damage and scratching.  Graffiti can be cleaned from GRP without any deterioration to the surface.  Our encapsulation process ensures water ingress is not a problem.
  • Polycarbonate.  This material is suitable for external use but does not offer the same colour fastness and ease of cleaning provided by GRP.
  • Acrylic.  Acrylic and Polycarbonate are very similar materials.  Acrylic is normally easier to clean than Polycarbonate but unfortunately can prove quite easy to shatter.
  • Banners.  Canvas banners are an ideal point of sale material and suitable for long-term and temporary graphics.  The ability to print direct in full colour adds an additional level of design flexibility.
  • Foamex.  Ideal for internal use this product can be used for internal displays and point of sale graphics.
  • Dibond.  An aluminium based material.
