Welcome to the Shelley Signs - the home of tough, robust but beautifully printed and finished outdoor signs. We supply and offer an optional design service for interpretive panels, park entrance signs, information and wayfinding signs. Full colour printing, GRP encapsulation and a wide variety of framing structures are all available.
If you need to meet DDA requirements for outdoor sites our sandblasted timber signs offer an interesting and distinctive answer.
Please use the Showcase section of the site to gain a flavour of our wide range of work and projects.
In addition to full colour printing, Shelley Signs specialise in designing and manufacturing a wide range of timber signs and frames. A particular skill is the ability to sandblast graphics into the timber to produce tactile signs that can be used outdoors.
Sandblasting. Tactile signs are produced using UK grown timber, frequently cedar sourced from a Herefordshire estate. The sandblasting process results in raised tactile graphics - these can range from big bold images through to text and maps. They produce an attractive and distinctive image that can also address DDA requirements. Due to the specific nature of the process it is often better for artwork to be prepared by ourselves from your roughs - if creating your own designs please ensure that you liaise with our Graphics Department from an early stage.
Routing. Routed timber signs are ideal for entrances and plaques. We work in both Oak, Cedar and Douglas Fir with the text usually painted to agreed colours. Routed panels come in many sizes and shapes - please refer to the Timber / Routed section in the Showcase part of this website for examples.
Engraving. Our range of CNC routers allow us to engrave onto a wide variety of materials. Both brass and GRP are frequently used - both offer an attractive finish and allow 'brass rubbings' to be taken.
