Signs for schools need to be tough, robust, and easy to clean but must also be attractive both visually and graphically. The combination of high-quality wide-format full-colour printers used by Shelley Signs together with our GRP encapsulation services means that the style of sign used for parks, nature reserves and other open spaces is ideal for use on school premises.

Technical Spec

As well as a manufacturing facility Shelley Signs offer a full design service. This design service is ideal for preparing artwork for school entrance signs. Often school signs require a school crest or logo to be manipulated – artwork suitable for a letterhead is rarely of sufficient quality to be used on a large entrance sign. The Shelly inhouse or in-house design team can tweak such designs into a suitable format.

Colour matching is also important for school entrance and directional signs and the printers used at Shelley Signs are capable of matching a wide variety of Pantone, RAL and BS or British Standard colours across a wide variety of mediums.

Durability and robustness are vitally important. Signs produced by Shelley Signs have a 5-year warranty or guarantee against fading and by offering 5 years we expect our signs to last significantly longer. It is also important that signs outside schools can be easily cleaned. General dirt and environmental grime can be easily cleaned off a Shelley Sign, we would recommend mild kitchen detergents as a starting point. If the dirt and grime is more serious or include paint, permanent markers, spray paint or general graffiti we offer a selection of anti-graffiti cleaners that can easily remove this without any deterioration to the surface.

As well as school entrance signs Shelleys design, manufacture and supply school signs for doors, directing visitors around the grounds. Our full-colour printers can also produce banners and displays for shorter-term applications.
Display cases and notice boards to facilitate the display of temporary signs and posters are also supplied by Shelley Signs. These can be used for internal or external applications and are supplied as both lockable or unlocked units in aluminium or timber.

Case Study

The Old Hall School in Wellington was signed with two very smart new entrance signs before their move to the new site at Wrekin College. These post mounted entrance signs looked fantastic and showed no colour deterioration. Several of the rooms in the new school were labelled with routed Oak signs produced by Shelley Signs – a very smart and stylish way of providing permanent room markers or labels.
